Great food, great drink. Very quaint and historic setting. My ribeye was outstanding.
Ambiance, service, options all amazing! The chefs was super inconsistent though. Veg was great across the board, salad and side. However, they are certainly struggling with their proteins. For the price per plate I was expecting dishes that were prepared well, and he/she really dropped the ball. The fat on the duck wasn't rendered properly, leaving it pretty chewy. The lobster, slightly over boiled. Everything lacked the finess I would expect to justify charging this much. Ambiance alone is a solid 5 stars read up on the history of the property and Al CApone before you go. Makes for an interesting evening finding things they speak about in the histories. Chef needs a little more time, or to refine his skill.
Fantastic service and big menu. My NY Strip steak was perfect and wife's salmon just as good. Knowing was a halfway house for Al Capone between Chicago & Miami, the history made it fun. Built in 1929, it looks kept up to its time of construction. Nice outdoor eating area as well with fountain and great for romantic dinners.
This is one of my favorite restaurants everything I've had on the menu is delicious one of my favorite appetizers is the crested blackened duck it is fabulous and their steaks are fabulous everything they have is so good and everyone is so friendly
